Memukul harapan Mohammed Shami untuk kembali ke BGT 2024-25, sang perintis mengalami cedera lutut saat menjalani rehabilitasi di NCA
In a fresh blow for the Indian cricket team, pacer Mohammed Shami has been injured during his rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). As per Times of India, the bowler developed swelling in his knees while he was recovering from his injury, leading to a delay in his highly-anticipated comeback. Shami has been on the sidelines since the conclusion of the ODI World Cup in 2023. The latest injury to the pacer means he would be further out of action for 6-8 weeks.
Setback for Shami
The pacer, who had recently resumed bowling at the NCA in Bengaluru, was expected to make his comeback in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia which is scheduled to begin in late November. However, a knee injury will mean Shami’s comeback would be further delayed. As per the report, the veteran pacer developed swollen knees.
“Shami had resumed bowling and was on trak to make his return to competitive cricket soon. But his knee injury has flared up recently. BCCI’s medical team is assessing the injury but it may require a bit of time,” a BCCI source told Times of India.
