Shakib Al Hasan’s Test cricket career could have just been over. The ace Bangladesh Cricket Team all-rounder was slated to play his last match against South Africa in Dhaka. No Farewell Test for Shakib Al Hasan?

Shakib Al Hasan has been away from home for a long time. He hasn’t made it back to the country after the fall of the Awami League’s government. Following the collapse of the government, murder charges have been levied upon Shakib, demanding his immediate arrest upon returning to the country.

While playing against India, Shakib claimed that the 1st Test in Dhaka against the Proteas would be his farewell Test match. But that won’t be the case now. “We have been informed that Shakib is unavailable for the first Test. He is at the end of his Test career but along with his experience, we still do not have someone of that calibre with both bat and the ball to replace him,” said chairman of BCB’s national selection panel Gazi Ashraf Hossain.
