Just after IND vs NZ 2nd Test Day 1 ended, Virat Kohli was spotted practicing. The ace batter India Cricket Team kept his adrenalin going as to practice throw-downs in Pune. Virat Kohli geared up and got some practice before he takes the field tomorrow. With Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill at the crease, Kohli didn’t have to bat today.
India managed to bowl out New Zealand for a first innings score of 259 runs with Washington Sundar bagging a 7-wicket haul. In reply, India ended Day 1 with a score of 16/1, trailing by a score of 243 runs.
Virat Kohli gears up to face Kiwis
India lost their captain Rohit Sharma towards late on Day 1 of the IND vs NZ 2nd Test in Pune. The Indian skipper have to walk back to the pavilion after managing a 9-ball duck. With Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill on the crease, Virat Kohli didn’t have to walk out to the middle.
But Virat Kohli was all prepared and padded up to get down to the crease if the situation arose. And then as soon as the day’s play ended, Kohli marched down to the ground to practice shots. He was spotted training hard, practicing take downs from Team India’s support staff.
The ace batter is keen to find the proper flow of the bat. He is yet to slam a Test century this year. He managed to score 70 runs in the second innings of the previous Test, but the coveted 3-digit score still evades him. Kohli’s fine form is now detrimental for India’s success in the WTC Standings.
And more importantly, after being 1-0 down in the India vs New Zealand Test series, Virat Kohli will be desperate to find runs to help India make a strong comeback. Furthermore, with the star batter finding his rhythm will act wonders when India travels to Australia for the highly anticipated Border Gavaskar Trophy.
