Shubman Gill will have to wait before he becomes the vice-captain of the India Cricket Team. The BCCI went on to announce the India squad for the upcoming 3-match Test series against New Zealand. It was when Jasprit Bumrah was re-announced as the deputy to Rohit Sharma.

Young Gill has been appointed as the deputy to Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav in both ODIs and T20Is respectively. But to become the vice-captain of the team in red-ball cricket, the young batter will have to patiently wait for his chance.
