Well, it is highly likely as the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper is touted to lead India ‘A’ ahead of the all-important Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) later this year. As India gears up for the crucial Test series against Australia, the Indian selectors are contemplating a unique warm-up strategy. For the first time in recent memory, the Indian team will play an internal practice match against the touring India ‘A’ side ahead of the Test series.

Ruturaj Gaikwad to lead ‘India A’?

As per Cricbuzz, Ruturaj Gaikwad is likely to lead the Indian ‘A’ team in Australia. The ‘A’ side will be reaching the Australian shores before the senior team and will play two first-class matches. The opening four-day match between them will be played in Mackay (October 31-November 3). Meanwhile, the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground will host the second clash, from November 7-10.
